Jaymie R. Sawyer, Ph.D.Vice President, R&D
Jaymie comes to SQI Diagnostics as a very experienced leader in protein arrays and multiplex immunoassay development. She was so impressed by the potential for SQI's technology that she left the sunny skies of San Diego to get in on the action in Toronto. A molecular biologist and antibody engineer by training, Jaymie has expertise in both hybridoma and phage display antibody discovery. As a founding member of Motorola Biochip systems, Jaymie was responsible for the inception and development of protein arrays on the Codelink platform as well as developing applications for microfluidic and novel detection technologies. Jaymie later moved to BD Biosciences where she was responsible for setting up a fully automated, high throughput screening lab for phage libraries in collaboration with Dyax Corp. As R&D Director with BD Biosciences she was responsible for reagent and assay development and led the Cytometric Bead Array program bringing high value multiplexed research immuno-assays to market. Jaymie's career, starting with her PhD in Genetics from the Univ. of Wisconsin, has been a progression of increasing leadership responsibilities that have also allowed her to feed her passion for learning and exploring advanced technologies. With Jaymie's experience in developing both bead based and planar arrays she has a strategic grasp of all the moving parts required to develop SQI's multiplexed assay technology and accelerate our product pipeline into the IVD market. |
