Eric Schneider

SQI Diagnostics Chairman of Board

Mr. Schneider holds a law degree from the University of Toronto and an honors physics degree from the University of Waterloo. Mr. Schneider practices law with Miller Thomson LLP in Waterloo, Ontario. He is the Chairman of the Board for SQI Diagnostics and chairs the compensation committee. In the past, Mr. Schneider served on the boards of two TSX companies – Schneider Corporation and 20/20 Financial Group. He was also Vice President, Secretary and General Counsel of J.M. Schneider, a food processor based in Kitchener; Vice President and Director of Business of Gotaverken Energy Systems, a supplier of steam generating and processing equipment to the pulp & paper and agricultural sectors; and a partner at Borden & Elliot (now Borden Ladner Gervais LLP).

David A. Williams

SQI Diagnostics Board

David A. Williams has served as president of his investment company, Roxborough Holdings Limited, in Toronto, since 1995. From 1969 to 1994, he held senior management positions with Beutel Goodman Company, one of Canada's largest institutional money managers. He also has extensive board experience, serving as chairman of Bennett Environmental. He is a director of Western Copper Corporation, Calvalley Petroleum, Radiant Energy and Resin Systems, Atlantis Systems Inc. and Newport Partners Income Fund. Mr. Williams is involved with a number of community related projects and is a director of Bishop's University Foundation and Camp Oochigeas. Mr. Williams holds a Bachelors degree in Business from Bishop's University and a Master's in Business Administration from Queen's University. He was the recipient of an Honorary Doctorate of Civil Laws from Bishop's University.

Paul Mountain

SQI Diagnostics Board

Paul is an active board member of SQI Diagnostics. He is the former Senior Vice President, Science and Technology for MDS Inc. Diagnostics Sector, and as such has been instrumental in bringing the perspective of a large reference laboratory to the design, development and commercialization strategies of the SQI Diagnostics platform. He has been extremely active in the diagnostics space over his career; he is Past President of the CLMA (Clinical Laboratory Management Association); Past Committee Chair for CLSI (Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute); member of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists; member of American Society of Microbiology and member of the American Association for Clinical Chemistry.

Peter Winkley

SQI Diagnostics Board

Peter is Vice-President, Finance and CFO of Therapure Biopharma Inc., an integrated Canadian biopharmaceutical company that develops, manufactures, purifies, and packages therapeutic proteins. Prior to joining Therapure Biopharma, Peter led the Corporate Finance function for MDS Inc. and before that worked for Ernst & Young LLP in their corporate audit practice. Peter has extensive experience with public company financial reporting and governance, treasury, risk management, and corporate finance. Peter is a chartered accountant and serves as a director of SQI and Chair of the Company's Audit Committee of the Board.

Saied Nadjafi

SQI Diagnostics Board

Mr. Saied Nadjafi holds a degree in engineering from Hilversum Institute of Technology (cum laude), and as a relentless entrepreneur has been a founding shareholder of several high growth business start-ups such as Triple P N.V. and Norigen Communications Inc. Beyond his board role with SQI Diagnostics Inc., Saied is a member on several Board of Directors including FedBid.com; Triple P and Metrovia Inc.

Peter Lea, Ph.D.

Founder

Peter Lea, Ph.D., the founder of SQI Diagnostics, invented and patented the core technology underpinning SQI Diagnostics multiplexing microarray technology targeted for autoimmune disease testing in reference laboratories. Peter lead the commercializing of the world's first microarray diagnostic platform incorporating automation, calibration and normalization in each test well plus multiplexing at the antigen and uniquely at the antibody subclass, a world first, something that SQI calls Ig_plex.

Peter has a unique blend of academic accomplishments and industry experience that have been instrumental to his scientific leadership of the SQI technology.

Professional History:

  • From 1970 to 1993, Peter held the positions of Director, Associate Laboratory Director, Investigator, and Research Associate Professor (Biophysics) at the Centres of Excellence: Canadian Genetic Diseases Network, Research Institute, Hospital for Sick Children, Faculty of Medicine, and University of Toronto.
  • LifeTECH Corporation.
  • From 1995 to 1996, as Director of Biophysics, Peter invented, patented and developed cardiac diagnostics at Spectral Diagnostics Inc.
  • From 1996 to 1998, as Director of Research and Development, he invented, patented and developed new blood processing technology.
  • Peter founded SQI Diagnostics in 1999.

Dr. Lea has been instrumental in managing the IP portfolio for SQI and has four patents issued and 15 patents pending to support the complexity and uniqueness of the SQI Diagnostics multiplexing microarray system.

Claude Ricks

SQI Diagnostics Board, President and Chief Executive Officer

Claude joined the SQI Diagnostics management team in September 2003 to take on a leadership role and guide a company with an innovative microarray multiplexing technology to commercial reality. Claude brings over two decades of senior management experience with a primary focus in business development, strategy, and operational excellence. With his turnaround success, Ricks' has consistently demonstrated his ability to deliver order and focus into chaotic start-up situations. He has consistently delivered measurable results in challenging organizations including two successful technology turnarounds and 10+ years in Tier 1 global consulting firms driving results for Fortune 100 companies.

Ricks' has held senior management responsibilities including Senior V.P. Client Services at Oasis Technology; Vice President Professional Services at Solect Technology; and principal with global consulting firm A.T.Kearney. Ricks holds an Honors Bachelor of Science from the University of Western Ontario and is the past Chairman of the Board for the Georgian College Capital Foundation.
